The 2019 Think Tank on Creating Sustainable Tourist Experiences was held in San Francisco from June 30 to July 3rd. The Think Tank was hosted by the Department of Recreation, Parks and Tourism, San Francisco State University, at their Downtown Campus in Market Street.
The Outstanding Paper Award went to Kate Devor Leuhusen for her work on "Sustainable Tourism on a Mass Tourism Island: An Exploratory Case Study on O`ahu’s Turtle Bay Resort".
The Runner Up Outstanding Paper Award went to Kristof Tomej: "Sustainability cues for the post-booking phase of a tourist experience".
In 2019 the thiank tank also a poster session for the second tiem and basedon delegates votes there was a tie for Best Poster between Emily Yeager, Bynum Boley, Meredith Welch-Devine, and Cari Goetcheus’ presentation on "Expanding the Profile of Short Term Vacation Rental (STVR) Hosts in Savannah, GA", and Gianna Moscardo and John Pearce’s study on"Eco-Fatigue and its potential impact on sustainable tourist experiences".
