Outcome
The expected outcome of the Think Tank is a set of "course outlines" for modules on sustainable tourism that would be injected in existing hospitality/tourism courses that cover a variety of hospitality/tourism subject matters (i.e. Tourism Planning and Development, Human Resources Management, Hospitality/Tourism Marketing, Property Management, Operations Management, Accounting/Finance, etc. Where appropriate, separate modules will be developed for the various sectors of the tourism/hospitality industry (i.e. hotels, restaurants, transportation and the travel trade, attractions, etc) and will cover all potential negative tourism impacts (i.e. ecological, sociocultural, economic and political. (See Discussion Model).
The course outlines will consist of a list of competencies, topics to be covered, readings, case studies, and possible audio-visuals. Like true course outlines, these documents will neither contain lesson plans nor the actual content of the lectures.
