About San Francisco State University
San Francisco State University is a major public university
serving students from the San Francisco Bay Area, across California and beyond,
with nationally acclaimed programs that span a broad range of disciplines. San
Francisco State offers bachelor's degrees in 77 academic areas with 48 areas of
concentrations, master's in 63 academic areas with 41 areas of concentrations,
and a doctorate in educational leadership. Programs offered jointly with
University of California campuses include a Ph.D. in education with a
concentration in special education with UC Berkeley, and a clinical doctorate,
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) with UC San Francisco. In addition, SF State

The Department of
Recreation, Parks & Tourism, located within the College of Health &
Social Sciences, advances and advocates for the recreation, parks and tourism
field through transformative education, scholarship and service. Bachelor’s and
master’s degree programs prepare students to engineer experiences that engage,
empower and educate. The department draws on the diversity and vitality of the
San Francisco Bay Area as a hands-on classroom and living laboratory.
The College of Health & Social Sciences comprises a wide range of departments, programs and schools with a shared commitment to equity and social justice.
